    Default 235 50 r17 tyres

I'm getting a set of mitsubishi 380 vrx 17 x 7 rims and I'm wondering if 235 50 r17 tyres will fit without any issues. I have searched and haven't come across a definitive answer.

    Any advice appreciated.

Do you already have a set of 235/50/17 tyres? If not 225/50/17 is standard fitment for 17" wheels. I can recall people running 235/45/17 tyres before but I've never heard of someone running 235/50/17 in my time on AMC.

235/50R17 is the closest to rolling diamater for TJ AWDs with 215/60R16 as standard fitmnt, however 235 width tyres are (legally) too wide for a 7" rim.
You'll be better off sticking to 225/50R17 tyre, which is similarly close in rolling diameter to the 235s, but legal and won't have as much sidewall flex.

Cheers for the information guys. I've got 225/55r16 on 16 x 8 csa prowler rims and want to change to something else. Going go with the 225/50r17.
